In this webinar, the European Skin Engineering Network (ESEN), an initiative of the European Burn Association supported by EU funding through the ESENBURN project, will present the clinical results of cell-based therapies for severe burns in Europe. Various European centers will report on their use of different products.
The second part of the webinar will be introduced by Álvaro Meana, a pioneer of skin tissue engineering in Spain. Following this introduction, the Andalusian team, will then introduce the Andalusian network, which has played a key role in the design and clinical translation of advanced therapies in Spain for over a decade. This includes the experience of the group from the University of Granada in Spain/Andalusia, who have been running a tissue engineering product involving two-layer complex autologous skin substitutes. In collaboration with the Burn Centre at Hospital Virgen del Rocío in Seville, the network has treated over 22 patients with this innovative product.
