10th Central European Burn Congress and the 24th Annual Conference of the Burn Medicine Society of the Slovak Medical Association

I would like to cordially invite you to the 10th Central European Burn Congress and the 24th Annual Conference of the Burn Medicine Society of the Slovak Medical Association – Burn Section, focused on presenting the latest achievements in the field of burn medicine by Slovak and international experts. We would appreciate to have you at our congress and it would be great to hear from you your expierence about burn care.

The congress will be held under the auspices of Prof. František Sabol, MD, PhD, MBA, General Director of AGEL University Hospital Košice-Šaca; Prof. Peter Jarčuška, MD, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice; Ing. Michal Pišoja, MPH, Chairman of the Board of AGEL a.s.; Assoc. Prof. Andrea Kalavská, MD, PhD, MHA, Medical Director and Member of the Board of AGEL SK; and PhDr. RNDr. Andrej Kováč, PhD, MPH, Director of the AGEL Educational, Scientific and Research Institute.

The main topics of this year’s medical section are the treatment of thermal injuries with a focus on:

  • intensive care,
  • surgical management of burns,
  • electrical burns,
  • nutrition in intensive care,
  • innovations in the removal of pathologically altered tissue and cell culture techniques.

The main topics of the nursing section are:

  • care of pediatric patients with thermal injuries,
  • care of extensively burned adult patients,
  • the importance of nurses’ work in operating theatres,
  • treatment of patients in a hyperbaric chamber.
